How do I choose the right size?

Measure your dog standing on all four paws, with a soft tape measure. Neck circumference is taken at the base of the neck, where the collar naturally sits. Chest girth is taken at the widest point, just behind the front legs.

Once the accessory is on, you should be able to slide two fingers flat between the strap and the body. Between two sizes, choose the larger one.

A detailed size guide is available on each relevant product page. The complete step-by-step guide

What exactly is Biothane®?

It's a polyester webbing with a TPU coating. It is waterproof, odourless and highly wear-resistant: it doesn't absorb water, doesn't hold wet-dog smells and doesn't crack.

Paired with our solid brass hardware, it stands up to mud, the sea and the years. It's the material we recommend for dogs that roll in everything.

What is the difference between the Biothane® collection and the waterproof fabric collection?

The difference lies mainly in the material, the look and the care, but in terms of strength, both collections are designed to be just as sturdy.

Biothane® is a flexible webbing coated with a waterproof material. It is unafraid of water and mud, and cleans very easily with a little soap and water. It's a particularly practical material for everyday life, and ideal for adventurous dogs!

Our waterproof fabric collection, above all, lets us create our own patterns and prints. But don't be fooled by its looks: inside every collar, harness and leash is an extremely durable polypropylene webbing, which forms the true structure of the accessory. It is all paired with brass hardware, chosen for its robustness and durability.

So you can choose first and foremost by taste: the practicality and clean look of Biothane®, or the softness and exclusive patterns of our waterproof fabric.

What is the difference between a fixed leash and a multi-position leash?

The fixed leash has a classic handle and a single length: simple, lightweight and practical for everyday walks. (1.20 m or 1.50 m)

The multi-position leash is fitted with several rings and two snap hooks. It can be adjusted to different lengths as you need, and also worn cross-body for hands-free walking. A true all-in-one leash! (4 positions: 2.30 m, 1.90 m and cross-body, 1.50 m)

How do I care for my accessories?

BIOTHANE®:

Simply clean Biothane® accessories with a soft cloth and clean water. For heavier dirt, you can use a little mild soap, then rinse thoroughly.

WATERPROOF AND SOFT FABRICS:

Waterproof fabric accessories can be hand-washed with lukewarm water, mild soap and a sponge.

They can also be machine-washed at 30°C, ideally in a laundry bag. Leave to air-dry.

HARDWARE:

Gold brass hardware

Brass is a living material that may naturally darken over time. This is perfectly normal and does not affect its quality in any way.

To restore its shine, gently rub the hardware with a cloth soaked in white vinegar, then rinse and dry thoroughly.

Brass can sometimes leave light marks on pale Biothane® colours or on fabrics. They come off easily with a little mild soap or coconut oil.

Silver stainless steel hardware

Stainless steel is particularly resistant to moisture and corrosion.

A simple wipe with clean water and a soft cloth is usually enough to keep it shining.

AFTER THE SEA:

After every swim in the sea, we recommend rinsing the accessories thoroughly in clean water to remove the salt, which could damage the materials and speed up oxidation of the hardware.

Then leave to air-dry before the next use.

All the care advice, material by material

Can the accessories go in the water / in the sea?

Yes, our accessories can absolutely go in the water!

Biothane® is completely waterproof and particularly suited to swimming. Our accessories in waterproof fabric can also get wet without any problem.

After a swim in the sea, we simply advise you to rinse your accessory in clean water, paying particular attention to the hardware, to remove the salt and preserve its look and durability.

What is the anti-pull ring on the front of the harness for?

The ring on the front of the harness lets you attach the leash to help reduce pulling.

When your dog pulls, the front attachment point naturally redirects them to the side rather than letting them lean forward. It's a very practical aid for making walks more comfortable and working on loose-leash walking.

Can I have an ID tag engraved?

Yes. Our ID tags are engraved in the workshop, to order: your dog's name, your phone number, and the little detail that makes it unique. Personalisation is chosen directly on the product page.

An engraved piece is made just for you, so it can be neither returned nor exchanged, except in the case of a manufacturing defect.

Harness or collar: which to choose?

A collar suits dogs that walk well on a leash. A harness spreads the pull across the chest rather than the throat: it's the right choice for a puppy, a dog that pulls, or a short-nosed breed.

We wrote a whole article on the subject

Are your harnesses suitable for dogs that pull?

Yes! Our harnesses are designed to be sturdy, comfortable and suited to everyday walks, even for dogs that tend to pull.

Our models also feature a ring on the front of the chest, to which you can attach the leash to help reduce pulling by naturally redirecting your dog when they pull.

For particularly powerful or very reactive dogs, however, we always recommend regularly checking the condition and fit of the harness.

Is everything really handmade?

Our harnesses, collars, leashes, bandanas, bow ties and bag holders are designed, sewn and checked by hand in our Avignon workshop. Our ID tags are engraved there too. The only exception: the "Essentials" collection is not made in our workshop.

The rest of the catalogue (toys, plush toys, bowls, pieces for humans) is selected, then tested in the boutique before joining the catalogue. We don't sew everything, but we choose everything. Each product page tells you exactly which applies.

Orders, delivery and returns

Use this text to share more information about your store.

What is the delivery time?

Every piece is handmade: allow about 4 weeks between your order and receiving your parcel. (This only applies to the accessories we make ourselves, in the "The Walk" section; otherwise allow 2 to 3 working days.) Parcels are mainly sent by tracked Colissimo, and you receive the tracking number by e-mail as soon as your parcel leaves. Customs duties may apply outside the European Union. Full details on the Delivery & returns page

Do you ship abroad?

Yes, by tracked international Colissimo. Outside the European Union, customs duties and local taxes may apply on receipt: these are your responsibility.

How do I make a return or exchange?

You have 14 days from receipt. The item must come back in its original condition, unworn, with the return form slipped into your parcel. Return costs are your responsibility.

Made-to-measure pieces and engraved ID tags cannot be returned, except in the case of a manufacturing defect.

Return address: Pompon&Pets, 91 rue de la Bonneterie, 84000 Avignon.

What if my accessory gets damaged or needs repairing?

Because an accessory can live through many adventures, we offer a repair service right in our Avignon workshop.

If a piece of hardware needs replacing or a repair is needed, contact us with a few photos so we can suggest the best solution.

Hardware repairs are free in our workshop; only the cost of shipping to us is yours if you cannot come to the boutique in person.

Can I change or cancel my order?

As long as your order hasn't left the workshop, everything can be changed: size, colour, address. Write to us as soon as possible with your order number.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes. Our gift card can be used across the whole online shop and at the Avignon boutique. See the gift card

Can we come and see you?

With pleasure. Our workshop-boutique is at 91 rue de la Bonneterie, in the heart of Avignon, a stone's throw from the Palais des Papes. Open Tuesday to Saturday, from 10am to 6.30pm.

You can come and try harnesses and collars on your dog before choosing: it's the best way to get the size right. More about the boutique

Are dogs allowed in the boutique?

Of course. That's the whole point: we try on, we adjust, and they leave wearing their new piece.
